About this deal

My eldest has a gro-clock and it has worked pretty well, but I agree that a battery option would be good as my youngest is much more pickle-y and needs something like a clock put well out of reach – which I can’t do if it needs plugging in!

I have visited 103 schools so far, taught mindfulness to over 16,500 children and sold over 2,500 books. Chopsy Baby just couldn’t believe there was a product in the world that would make a wilful toddler understand that the day doesn’t start at 5am, so we decided it had to be tested. Over 40 schools have signed up to watch the films during Children's Mental Health week in early February 2024 and the numbers of schools participating are increasing every day!

I think the Gro products are so amazing and told Phil about the clock when I was still pregnant with Toby! Spending the time reading the book together is really nice and she already knows most of the words and finishes off the sentences. In the Autumn of 2023, I produced a set of videos, showing what I present on the in-person school visits. A sky full of dreams is our very special bedtime story where Bennie the Bear teaches Ollie the Owl all about the Groclock. I made the mistake of setting it up just before bed without introducing him to it before the mayhem of bedtime started.

N seems to be a bit better but we would like to nip it in the bud before he gets to J’s age and is still having sleep and bed time issues which is a nightmare to deal with every night with one child, let alone two. Since using the clock I have noticed a happier, more rested toddler and I have definitely felt the benefits myself. On the first night, set the clock's sun to rise for the time your kid usually wakes up—even if it’s ridiculously early.By counting down the stars and waiting for the screen to turn yellow, children learn what time they can get out of bed – as set by their parents. He hasn’t quite grasped the wake up routine part with the Gro Clock yet but it’s definitely helped a lot at bed times. The Gro Clock has a few functions; it is a night light, an hourly count down timer, and it can even be used as an alarm. When I consulted the information book I discovered that it had a function on the clock to combat this in the form of a lock so little fingers can’t mess around with it. I am working on Master Owl plush toys, some of which have built in mindfulness meditations and relaxing music.

It uses LED’s which are naturally energy-efficient and 1 hour after Mr Sun comes out the display turns off the coloured LED’s and runs on just a tiny amount of electricity. Mr Star is surrounded by 12 little stars who disappear one by one during the ‘sleep’ time phases to show the passing of time. He’s been sleeping through the night and on a Monday – Wednesday is still fast asleep when it’s time for us to take him to nursery and I’m always filled with guilt when we have to wake him. He is calmer and more settled getting into his cot than before meaning we are less stressed as parents and it has resulted in happier, calmer bedtimes in the BattleHousehold. Although BattleKid has occasionally given us a lie-in at the weekend I have set the Gro Clock to wake-up at 7am so that it might help make those occasional lie-ins more permanent, and so far BattleKid hasn’t woken before 7am at the weekend. The Gro-clock is a brilliant addition to your child’s nursery or bedroom and I would recommend it, not only as a clock or an alarm but also as a dimmed bedroom light. Ohh I love the gro clock, it works pretty well in our house, we have a few hit and miss mornings but mostly my son will stay in bed until Mr Sun comes up, I think it’s a fab invention.
