About Us

Bookbinding WorkshopDave Roberts is the proprietor of DJ Bookbinders which has specialised in hardcase book, thesis and magazine binding for nearly 40 years.  Dave served his apprenticeship with Reliance Bookbinding before establishing DJ Bookbinders in 1979 and in recent years has been assisted by his wife Liz.

Previously located in St Albans, DJ Bookbinders moved to Harmans Cross (near Swanage) in Dorset in 2004.

In 2014 we made the decision to work "seasonally" - binding during the winter and taking advantage of the naturally quieter summer months to achieve a better work/life balance.

FROM 1ST APRIL - 30TH SEPTEMBER  we are CLOSED.

FROM 1ST OCTOBER - 31ST MARCH we will be delighted to welcome personal callers at our premises and our normal opening hours are 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 1pm Saturday.  We are generally closed on Tuesdays.  Occasionally the workshop may be closed if we are making a delivery or collecting materials etc. so if you are making a special journey and travelling some distance to visit us please email or phone in advance.

If you are unable to visit our workshop we can offer a complete postal service.  Full details of prices for delivery and the optional collection service can be found on our prices page.
